Class D2 Swimming Paraprofessional at Minnetonka Middle School East (MME), 6.5 hours per day for quarters 2 and 3

Assignment:

• 6.5 hours per day for quarters 2 and 3 (November 9, 2026 to March 25, 2027)

Job Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the physical education teachers, assist students in the water during swimming lessons.
• Perform lifeguard duties, administer first aid, and perform rescue operations as needed.
• Provide supervision in the locker room.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Job Qualifications:

• Current Water Safety Instruction (WSI) certificate or lifeguard training, or willingness to obtain.
• Previous experience performing job responsibilities related to the position.
• Current CPR and/or first aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Evidence of understanding and knowledge of school rules.
• Evidence of ability to work with middle school age children.
• Evidence of cool judgment in crisis situation.
• Evidence of ability to respect, protect and maintain confidentiality.
• Evidence of strong communication skills and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
