The Louisiana Center for Safe Schools strengthens the safety, well-being, and resilience of school communities by coordinating statewide resources, training, and information sharing to build positive school climates and advance best practices in emergency readiness, empowering schools to effectively prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises. We’re looking for someone who is exceptionally detail-oriented, highly organized, and an effective communicator. In this role, you will play a vital part by providing comprehensive administrative coordination, managing operational workflows, and ensuring all regulatory requirements are met. Working under the direction of leadership, you will streamline office processes, oversee fiscal monitoring, and manage schedules and correspondence. You will ultimately serve as a key administrative anchor, facilitating smooth communication between the agency, educational partners, law enforcement, and external stakeholders. Please visit our website for more information about our agency: https://lasafeschools.la.gov/ AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES: Accepting Direction: The ability to be open and willing to follow guidance or instructions. Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies. Managing Resources: The ability to manage financial, physical, and contractual resources to ensure compliance and maximize business value. Making Accurate Judgments: The ability to assess options, weigh risks, and make sound decisions using available information and logical reasoning. Managing Time: The ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and allocate time to ensure timely completion of work goals. Thinking Critically: The ability to analyze information objectively, identify connections across sources, and form logical, well-supported conclusions. Using Data: The ability to collect, analyze, and use data to generate insights and inform decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

•Coordinates day-to-day administrative operations and workflows for the Louisiana Center for Safe Schools to ensure efficiency and accountability.
•Monitors statutory deadlines, state policies, and internal controls to maintain compliance across all office functions.
•Manages calendars, schedules, and logistical plans for meetings, training sessions, and official program events.
•Serves as the primary administrative liaison for communications with law enforcement agencies, vendors, and external stakeholders.
•Oversees office expenditures, supply orders, and inventory monitoring in accordance with budgetary requirements.
•Prepares and edits official correspondence, reports, presentations, and digital communications to support program objectives.

Appointment Type: Probational. Current classified permanent status employees may be required to take a probational appointment if selected for this position. Career Progression: This position may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 2, 3 or 4 Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
