The LSU AgCenter focuses on research, extension and teaching to make advancements that will benefit generations. The LSU AgCenter is one of nine campuses of the LSU System. With offices in every parish and research stations across the state, the LSU AgCenter is committed to serving the citizens of Louisiana. The 4-H Youth Development Office is looking for an Administrative Coordinator 3 with excellent customer service and organizational skills. For more information please visit: Youth Development. Competencies: Communicating Effectively: The ability to relay information correctly and appropriately to connect people and ideas. Displaying Expertise: The ability to exhibit specialized skills or knowledge gained from experience or training Managing Resources: The ability to ensure resources such as time, money, and people are utilized appropriately to result in maximum business value. Using Data: The ability to use relevant and valid data to inform a recommendation for action. Two years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties: As an Administrative Coordinator 3, you'll help create a positive first impression for every person who walks through our doors. In this role, you will:

  • Administrative Support: work with statewide extension specialists assisting with travel arrangements, expense reports, and planning for events and publications. Other duties include, but not limited to, record keeping, requisitions, purchase orders, supply management processing mail, and managing multi-line communication system, etc. (55%)
  • Travel Planning and Event Coordination: Make travel arrangements, prepare and submit travel authorizations, and process expense reports for faculty and staff. Coordinate various events, trainings, meetings, and award trips. Maintain budget and reconciliation of all expenses for events. (45%)

Position-Specific Details:

  • Appointment Type: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
  • Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Some nights and weekends may be needed.
  • Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
  • Location: 4-H Youth Development Office, Baton Rouge, La.
  • This position is not eligible for remote employment.
