Job Description

Leverage your deep knowledge to reshape how clients experience our products and help to elevate every client interaction.

As an Executive Director within the J.P. Morgan Payments Global Advisory Team, you will focus primarily on Technology clients with additional coverage of Non-bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs), supporting J.P. Morgan's largest and most strategic clients in North America. Acting as a trusted advisor to founders, CFOs, Treasurers, and Heads of Payments, you will lead strategic client discussions, originate opportunities and shape deal strategy. You will partner closely with Banking, Sales and Product to align messaging and go-to-market execution and scale consistent, differentiated content across the organization — in service of new sales, pipeline, and portfolio growth.

The J.P. Morgan Payments Global Advisory Team is a market-leading advisory group that delivers sector insight, thought leadership, and data-driven analysis to shape client strategy, strengthen positioning, and drive sales and product priorities. Working alongside treasury, finance and payments leaders, we help clients modernize and transform their Payments and Treasury operations and support their growth ambitions in a fast-evolving global landscape. Leverage your deep knowledge to reshape how clients experience our products and help to elevate every client interaction

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide sector, market, and client insight — including benchmarking and market analysis — to shape sales strategy, prioritize opportunities, and improve success

  • Understand JPM product offerings (Payments, Cash Management, Liquidity, FX, Merchant Services, Embedded Finance, Trade, and Working Capital) and leverage them to structure solutions for clients

  • Diagnose client needs through process deep dives and whiteboarding; develop insight-led recommendations across treasury, payments, liquidity, and working capital, including treasury transformation and operating model optimization.

  • Stay on top of industry trends and evolving operating models to define and refine treasury & payment solution strategy and engagement approach.

  • Originate and support opportunities by contributing to pipeline creation and deal strategy, and build go-to-market sales plans and campaigns that support pipeline growth.

  • Develop thought leadership and executive-ready materials — including advisory reports and client presentations — that drive senior stakeholder engagement, and capture reusable client success stories that can be replicated across the team.

  • Translate market themes, benchmarking, and data insights into actionable recommendations for clients and sales teams, and enhance external visibility at JPM proprietary events, industry roundtables, and client events.

  • Create reusable playbooks, frameworks, and positioning guidance to scale best practices across teams, mentoring and supporting broader coverage and sales teams through collaboration and expertise.

  • Partner with Product to exchange insights, bring the voice of the client, and support the roadmap.

  • Ensure strong risk management, compliance, and adherence to relevant policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Significant hands-on experience in a money-movement, payments, or treasury role within company with a sophisticated payments operating model (e.g., a treasury function at a large consumer technology / marketplace / platform company / FinTech) — OR equivalent treasury/payments advisory or consulting experience where you have built or helped build these capabilities first-hand.

  • Demonstrated practitioner depth: you have built or consulted on building Payments and/or Treasury capabilities within an organization, with genuine solutioning ability

  • Strong understanding of payment industry, treasury, banking infrastructure and key areas of innovation such as Embedded Finance, Blockchain and AI.

  • Growth mindset, original thinking, and strong problem-solving; operates with urgency and energy.

  • Ability to develop thought leadership ideas and strategies and execute against them.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, including influencing, networking, and collaborating; ability to engage confidently with senior executives and work effectively across teams and geographies.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders (sales, product, banking), building confidence and trust.

  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment; strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Team player, able to work effectively in a highly collaborative and global organization.

  • Minimum 10+ years' relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Direct experience in a treasury / money-movement role at a technology company with a regulated payments business.

  • Strong understanding of the Technology and FinTech sectors, including their business models, regulatory requirements, and the related payments ecosystem.

  • Familiarity with the NBFI landscape (broker-dealers, asset management, insurance).

  • Experience working in a global organization.

  • Thought leadership credentials and public speaking experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience; adaptability and innovation in a rapidly evolving industry.
