AI Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an AI Engineer for a top home improvement retail client. This individual will help build and deploy enterprise AI agents designed to solve real business problems and make generative AI capabilities accessible to both technical and non-technical users. The engineer will work hands-on in GCP using Python, Terraform, SQL, Google ADK, and modern GenAI/RAG concepts while partnering closely with business and technical teams to identify valuable use cases, translate requirements into scalable solutions, and demonstrate working products. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who combines strong cloud engineering skills with an ability to communicate, present, and turn business processes into production-ready AI solutions.

Day to Day:

• Partner with business, data science, inventory planning, and other teams to identify processes that can benefit from AI agents

• Spend approximately 60% of the role collaborating with other teams, understanding business use cases, gathering requirements, and developing solutions o Translate business requirements into technical requirements and ensure solutions align with the broader platform strategy

• Build high-functioning AI agents using ADK and related Google technologies

• Develop backend functionality and deploy solutions within GCP

• Use Python, SQL, Terraform, and GCP to build and operationalize solutions

• Demo solutions to stakeholders and clearly communicate why a use case should move forward or become a broader case study

• Help support and enhance an existing homegrown AI application that guides users toward the appropriate workflow/platform based on their use case

• Develop reusable agent workflows while considering governance, legal, and HR requirements

Compensation: $46/hr to $50/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees in this role will have access to paid sick leave and other paid time off benefits as required under the applicable law of the worksite location.

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves:

• Ability to build, develop, and deploy AI agents

• Working knowledge of AI/ML and GenAI concepts, including RAG architecture

• Experience with or strong knowledge of Google Agent Development Kit (ADK)and an understanding of Google's agent development ecosystem/Agent Starter Pack

• Strong Python development experience

• Deep, hands-on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience, working within GCP on a day-to-day basis o Experience building and deploying applications/solutions into GCP

• Terraform

• SQL

• Strong communication and presentation skills, including requirements gathering and demonstrations to business stakeholders Plusses:

• Grafana and Prometheus, particularly monitoring, alerting, and tracing

• Enterprise Gemini experience

• Glean experience or exposure to a similar enterprise AI platform

• Experience developing enterprise-grade agentic AI solutions

• Experience translating business processes into reusable AI workflows
