The School of Kinesiology and Nutrition invites applications for two tenure-track, nine-month Assistant Professor positions beginning Fall 2027. Located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, these in-person positions offer an exciting opportunity for innovative, collaborative scholars with expertise in cardiovascular physiology, exercise science, nutrition, or related fields that complement and enhance our School's academic and research programs.

The successful candidate will develop a productive research agenda, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students, and contribute to service. We particularly welcome applications from candidates whose scholarly interests and expertise are aligned with cardiovascular physiology, applied exercise physiology, exercise science, nutrition, or other complementary areas that support interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.

The School of Kinesiology and Nutrition serves more than 600 students and includes 27 faculty and staff. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an active research agenda in cardiovascular physiology, exercise physiology, exercise science, nutrition/dietetics, or a related field.

• Pursue scholarly dissemination through high-quality publications, presentations, and external funding opportunities.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the School in face-to-face and online formats.

• Collaborate with School faculty to enhance curriculum and continuous improvement processes required for accreditation.

• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students through teaching and research.

• Participate in school, university, professional, and community service activities.
