Project Manager

Description We are looking for a Project Manager to support heavy civil construction work in California. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who can keep project documentation, schedules, coordination efforts, and cost-related activities moving efficiently from preconstruction through field execution. The role works closely with clients, subcontractors, field teams, and public agency stakeholders to help deliver transportation and roadway projects with strong organization, communication, and follow-through.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee project records by managing submittals, requests for information, correspondence, and other essential construction documentation.

• Maintain and revise project timelines, coordinate trade partner sequencing, and communicate any changes that could affect key milestones.

• Support planning for traffic control measures, roadway access restrictions, and freeway closure activities in coordination with project needs.

• Attend coordination meetings with owners, subcontractors, agency representatives, and internal teams, while capturing decisions and tracking follow-up items.

• Facilitate procurement activities for materials and equipment, ensuring deliveries and resource availability align with construction schedules.

• Prepare monthly pay applications, monitor installed quantities, and assist with billing progress and subcontractor payment support.

• Contribute to cost control efforts by organizing change order records, contract revisions, and other project financial documentation.

• Partner with field personnel to confirm work is performed according to plans, specifications, quality expectations, and reporting requirements.

• Help address jobsite issues by coordinating timely solutions with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders. Requirements • 2+ years of experience supporting construction projects in a project engineering or project management capacity.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Background in Caltrans, public works, transportation, bridge, roadway, or other heavy civil construction projects is strongly preferred.

• Working knowledge of construction documentation, contract administration, scheduling practices, and progress billing processes.

• Familiarity with Caltrans standards, specifications, and documentation procedures is highly desirable.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

• Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. TalentMatch®
