Full job description

Overview

Tax filing is one of the most high-stakes experiences a customer will have all year, and getting it right (accurately, confidently and with minimal effort) is core to TurboTax's promise. We're looking for a Sr Staff Product Manager to help lead the ongoing evolution of TurboTax's core filing experience, as well as the next generation of AI-powered, personalized capabilities that make filing simpler and more confidence-inspiring for millions of customers.

In this role, you'll help shape the foundational product experience that underlies TurboTax, while also driving new, emerging capabilities that push the product forward. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Content, Compliance/Legal and other Product teams to turn big, ambiguous opportunities into a clear roadmap and shipped outcomes.

If you love working on foundational products with broad reach, and you're excited by the challenge of building trustworthy, AI-powered experiences at scale, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision and strategy for a core piece of the TurboTax filing experience, balancing near-term delivery with long-term foundational investment

  • Identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities to improve usability, accuracy and customer confidence across the product

  • Drive the development of AI-powered and personalized capabilities that reduce customer effort and improve outcomes

  • Partner with Design and Engineering to make complex experiences feel simple, intuitive and trustworthy

  • Use experimentation, customer research and data to validate ideas, measure impact and continuously iterate

  • Lead end-to-end execution in partnership with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Content and Compliance/Legal

  • Drive alignment and clear decision-making across cross-functional stakeholders, even amid ambiguity

  • Communicate strategy, progress and results clearly to senior leadership

  • Champion accuracy, reliability and customer trust in every product decision

  • Stay current on emerging AI and product trends and identify opportunities to apply them to TurboTax

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with a track record of leading complex, high-impact consumer software experiences from ambiguity to execution

  • Strong technical fluency: comfortable partnering deeply with engineering on system design and AI/ML-driven capabilities

  • Experience shaping or shipping AI-powered, ML-driven or agentic product experiences is a strong plus

  • Demonstrated ability to both evolve mature, foundational platforms and drive new 0-to-1 initiatives

  • Deep customer empathy, with the ability to translate complex or technical concepts into simple, trustworthy experiences

  • A data-driven mindset: comfortable with experimentation, metrics and defining success criteria for novel experiences

  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder influence skills

  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leaders

  • Background in fintech or other regulated spaces where accuracy and trust are paramount is a plus

  • A genuine passion for building products that make customers feel more confident, not more confused

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or related quantitative/technical field preferred. An MBA is a plus. Equivalent experience will be considered
