We are seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to build security into the software development lifecycle, not bolt it on at the end. The engineer will shape the application security strategy and roadmap, engineer security controls and automation into CI/CD pipelines, and administer tools such as SAST, SCA, DAST and secrets detection. The role also supports the secure adoption of AI-assisted development, runs the day-to-day program including scanning, SLA reporting and audit documentation, and provides secure coding guidance. Success depends on being a trusted partner to developers, delivering practical, clearly explained fixes that make security feel like part of engineering.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Roadmap: Help shape the application security roadmap, with threat modeling, zero-day response and quality standards for security findings that reflect the evolving threat landscape.

  • Engineering: Build and integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, develop microservices, APIs and automation, and turn security requirements into developer-friendly workflows.

  • AI Transformation: Secure AI-assisted development and the AI-enabled applications we adopt, and apply AI with guardrails and human review to triage, enrichment and remediation.

  • Tool & Capability Evaluation: Research and run proof-of-concept evaluations of security tools, benchmarking accuracy, coverage and developer experience to keep our toolset effective and cost-efficient.

  • Developer & Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to development teams. Meet them where they work, help them prioritize and fix findings, and co-design secure workflows that don't slow delivery. Run office hours, coach teams on secure coding, and gather developer feedback to improve our tools and processes. Explain technical risk in plain terms to engineers, product owners and leadership.

  • Operational Excellence: Keep the program healthy through application onboarding, ad hoc scanning, tool administration, SLA-based reporting and audit-ready documentation.

Required Skills :

  • 3+ years of experience with AppSec tooling such as SAST, SCA, DAST/IAST or secrets detection.

  • 3+ years of experience with Java and/or Spring Boot, building microservices and/or REST APIs.

  • 2+ years of experience integrating security tools into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with scripting and/or automation (Python, Bash or similar).

Preferred Skills :

  • 5+ years of experience in application security, security engineering, or software engineering with a security focus.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Working knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 and secure coding practices.

  • Experience running developer enablement such as office hours, training, secure coding guidance or champions programs.

  • Demonstrated experience partnering directly with software developers to resolve security issues. This includes explaining the risk, recommending practical fixes and following through to closure.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to adjust the message for developers, product owners and executives.

  • Experience influencing without authority, resolving competing priorities and building consensus across teams.

  • Experience collecting developer feedback and using it to improve tools, processes or documentation.

  • 2+ years of experience with penetration test findings, threat modeling, or zero-day and critical-vulnerability response.

  • 2+ years of experience building or evaluating security tooling through proof-of-concept testing, including business cases.

  • Experience migrating or administering security platforms.

  • 2+ years of experience developing or interpreting security metrics and dashboards, and presenting them to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience working in cloud-native environments (APIs, containers, IaC, CI/CD) and with software supply chain security.

  • Experience in financial services or another regulated environment, including audit and governance processes.

  • Experience reviewing AI-generated code, or securing AI coding assistants and agent/MCP integrations.

  • Experience building LLM-based security automation with guardrails, and sound judgment on validating AI output and protecting sensitive data
