You will partner across Commercial, Operations, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and S&OP to ensure materials flow efficiently, customer demand is supported, and supply chain performance continues to improve.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Lead purchasing, material planning, production scheduling, inventory control, logistics, and related supply chain activities.

Translate the approved S&OP demand and supply plan into executable purchasing, material, inventory, and production schedules.

Partner cross-functionally to align priorities, constraints, customer commitments, and execution plans.

Ensure material availability and production readiness while proactively identifying and escalating supply, capacity, quality, and logistics risks.

Develop sourcing and supplier strategies that improve cost, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and continuity of supply.

Lead supplier performance through scorecards, business reviews, corrective actions, risk assessments, and supplier development plans.

Optimize inventory policies and controls to reduce excess, obsolete, slow-moving, and inaccurate inventory while supporting service requirements.

Drive improvements in inventory turns, days inventory outstanding, purchase price performance, premium freight, material shortages, and supplier on-time delivery.

Support working capital objectives through inventory optimization, improved payment terms, order-quantity strategies, and disciplined material flow.

Maintain effective planning parameters, lead times, safety stocks, reorder points, and ERP/MRP master data.

Oversee cycle counts, inventory accuracy, inbound and outbound logistics, freight performance, carrier relationships, and corrective actions.

Develop contingency plans for critical materials and suppliers, including alternate sourcing and business continuity actions.

Establish standard work, policies, performance dashboards, and accountability routines across the supply chain function.

Lead continuous improvement using lean principles and build team capability through coaching, development, succession planning, and cross-training.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience

Seven or more years of progressive experience in supply chain, materials management, purchasing, production planning, logistics, or manufacturing operations.

Three or more years of leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a multi-site manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated experience managing suppliers, inventory, ERP/MRP planning, production schedules, logistics, and supply disruptions.

Proven success improving supply chain KPIs, customer delivery, inventory performance, cost, and working capital.

Experience supporting a formal S&OP process and converting approved plans into executable actions is preferred.

Experience with lean manufacturing, structured problem solving, and continuous improvement is preferred.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field is preferred.

An associate degree with at least seven years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with at least ten years of relevant experience, will also be considered.

APICS CPIM or CSCP, CPSM, Lean Six Sigma, or a comparable professional certification is preferred.

Technical Skills

Strong working knowledge of purchasing, material planning, production scheduling, inventory control, logistics, supplier management, and manufacturing operations.

Hands-on experience with ERP and MRP systems; Global Shop Solutions experience is preferred.

Advanced Excel and data-analysis skills, plus proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and business intelligence or reporting tools.

Ability to interpret demand, supply, inventory, capacity, cost, and service data and turn analysis into timely decisions.

Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, root-cause analysis, continuous improvement, and supply chain risk management.

Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and commercial judgment.

Soft Skills

Leadership skills that build accountability, develop employees, resolve conflict, and drive cross-functional execution.

Clear verbal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to executive leadership.

Collaborative approach to working with internal teams, customers, and suppliers across multiple locations.

Strong organization, prioritization, and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and on time.

Sound judgment and urgency during supply disruptions, balanced with appropriate controls and escalation discipline.

Additional Requirements

Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.

Ability to travel between RFC locations and to suppliers, generally up to 20% of the time.

Ability to work onsite in Shelbyville, Kentucky, or Jeffersonville, Indiana, with occasional flexibility to work from home.

Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR/EAR requirements.
