Description We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Director of Marketing to lead integrated campaigns that strengthen brand visibility, increase product adoption, and deepen customer engagement across the ophthalmic and optometric markets. This position blends high-level planning with day-to-day execution, requiring a strong grasp of clinical communication, market positioning, and practitioner-focused marketing. Based in California, this leader will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful programs that support business growth and resonate with eye care professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead annual marketing strategies for assigned product portfolios, ensuring initiatives align with commercial goals and market opportunities.

  • Oversee go-to-market planning for new product introductions, coordinating timelines, messaging, and promotional activities across relevant channels.

  • Partner with sales leaders and industry experts to create programs that reflect evolving clinical practice needs and patient care trends.

  • Monitor campaign performance using CRM, automation, and analytics tools, then refine tactics to improve engagement, lead quality, and return on investment.

  • Build and maintain relationships with industry associations and external partners to expand market presence and strengthen brand credibility.

  • Drive practitioner engagement through educational programs, webinars, conferences, and events that showcase product value and differentiation.

  • Work closely with regulatory and compliance stakeholders to ensure all promotional content meets applicable medical marketing standards.

  • Manage budgets, agency and vendor relationships, and project schedules to keep initiatives on track and within scope. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.

  • At least 5 years of marketing experience within medical device, ophthalmology, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or a similarly regulated industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to create product positioning and integrated campaigns that contribute to measurable commercial growth.

  • Strong understanding of the eye care market; familiarity with dry eye diagnostics and therapeutic categories is highly valued.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to turn technical or clinical information into clear marketing messages.

  • Experience with platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics, or similar CRM and marketing technology tools.

  • Proven success collaborating across departments while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of digital marketing, B2B marketing, brand-building strategies, and performance measurement best practices. Innovation starts with people.®
