Full job description
Want to help everyday Americans invest and build wealth? Financial inequality is increasing, and too many people are getting left behind. At Stash, we are passionate about democratizing wealth creation through education, advice, and products that help customers achieve greater financial freedom.
Stashworks is Stash’s workplace financial wellness benefit. We partner with employers so their people can save, invest, get paid early, and earn rewards for building better money habits, at no subscription cost while they are employed. It complements a traditional 401(k): guidance, banking, personal and managed portfolios, and retirement accounts in one benefit people can actually use. Employers choose Stashworks and offer it to their people. You will design for both the employer and the employee, with a clear view of how the benefit is explained, enrolled, and funded through work.
As a Product Designer on Stashworks, you create experiences that make a workplace benefit feel personal. You are a passionate craftsperson, connecting the dots between research and design and balancing speed and quality in pursuit of thoughtful, polished work. You will partner with the Stashworks team to design employer experiences, enrollment, contributions, rewards, and the everyday moments that help employees start saving and investing through work.
Stash is a fast-paced growth company. Join us to work on hard, important problems, have fun, and make history.
This position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring you to be on-site in our New York office at least three days per week to work with stakeholders and foster team collaboration.
What you'll do:
-
Champion user-centered design and craft, while iterating and executing at speed.
-
Design the employee experience for Stashworks within the Stash app and web, including enrollment, employee offboarding employer experiences (onboarding, employer portals).
-
Make a multi-product benefit feel like one clear story: saving, investing, banking, and guidance that fit into someone’s work life.
-
Ideate and design UX screens and flows that fit into Stash’s design system, across the benefit experience and the Stash app.
-
Break down technically complex problems and develop customer-centered solutions.
-
Contribute to behavior design that helps employees build healthy financial habits and stick with them.
-
Partner with Product and Analytics to design, launch, and evaluate A/B and multivariate tests to optimize employee experiences.
-
Foster collaborative relationships with Product, Engineering, Design, Research, Marketing, and employer-facing partners.
-
Actively contribute to constructive design reviews and deliver quality.
What we're looking for:
-
3+ years of professional consumer UX/UI experience
-
A portfolio that includes a strong sense of process and work that ends in impact
-
Experience working with designers, product management, and engineering
-
Track record of key contributions to successful programs
-
Experience designing onboarding, benefits, or other products where someone arrives through a partner and has to understand the value quickly
-
Human-centered, user-obsessed product designer.
-
Great communicator and relationship-builder who fosters trust, shares a point of view, delivers feedback, and brings the team along.
-
Collaborative team player. You understand design is a team sport and when we win, we win together.
-
Able to balance data with user insights to inform design decisions.
-
Growth mindset with the desire to move fast and learn faster.
-
Comfortable designing for someone meeting Stash through their employer, then using it as their own money product.
