Full job description

About Thinking Machines The mission of Thinking Machines is to build AI that extends human will and judgment. We are training frontier models with Inkling, developing Tinker to let people make models their own, and crafting interfaces that broaden human-AI communication. We believe the future worth building is human, and we're hiring people who want to build it.

About the role We’re hiring a Product Management Recruiter to help build the team shaping how people use our AI systems. You’ll partner with product leaders and collaborators across research, engineering, and design to recruit product managers who combine strong judgment, technical curiosity, and a deep understanding of users. You’ll help define what effective product leadership looks like when both the technology and its applications are changing quickly. That means looking beyond familiar titles to understand what candidates have built, how they make decisions, and how they work through ambiguity. What you’ll do

  • Own recruiting for product management roles, from individual contributors to product leaders.

  • Partner with hiring managers to define each role’s scope, expected impact, and essential capabilities.

  • Develop sourcing strategies across relevant talent markets, including AI products, developer platforms, enterprise software, and consumer experiences.

  • Conduct initial conversations that explore product judgment, customer understanding, technical fluency, and collaboration.

  • Help design interviews that reveal candidates’ contributions, decisions, and results.

  • Build compelling, accurate narratives about the work and tailor conversations to candidates’ interests.

  • Manage candidate relationships, offers, and closing plans while keeping hiring teams aligned.

  • Share market insights and pipeline trends to improve hiring decisions and search effectiveness.

What you’ll bring

  • 4+ years of recruiting experience, including direct ownership of product management searches.

  • A record of hiring strong product managers across different levels or product areas.

  • An understanding of how product roles vary across platforms, consumer products, and enterprise businesses.

  • The ability to distinguish individual contributions from team outcomes and communicate candidate strengths clearly.

  • Experience partnering with senior leaders on role definition, assessment, and closing.

  • Strong written communication, organization, and candidate relationship skills.

Logistics

  • Location: This role is based in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

  • Compensation: Depending on background, skills and experience, the expected annual salary range for this position is $200,000 - $275,000 USD.

  • Visa sponsorship: We sponsor visas. While we can't guarantee success for every candidate or role, if you're the right fit, we're committed to working through the visa process together.

  • Benefits: Thinking Machines offers generous health, dental, and vision benefits, unlimited PTO, paid parental leave, and relocation support as needed.

As set forth in Thinking Machines' Equal Employment Opportunity policy, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected group status under any applicable law.
