Full job description
Description We are looking for an experienced Project Manager/Sr. Consultant to lead a technology vendor risk and governance initiative for a leading education organization in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract position will guide efforts to improve oversight of software and IT vendors, strengthen decision-making around renewals, and bring structure to contract, usage, and compliance analysis. The person in this role will collaborate closely with sourcing, software asset management, and technology teams to build practical processes that support vendor performance and risk management at scale.
Responsibilities:

Lead the delivery of a technology vendor risk management program focused on improving oversight across current and future vendor relationships.

Coordinate project plans, timelines, and cross-functional activities to ensure progress across contract review, vendor governance, and compliance efforts.

Analyze contract details, usage information, and related data to support renewal decisions, vendor tiering, and strategic sourcing recommendations.

Facilitate governance reviews and quarterly business reviews with vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate performance, risk, and value.

Partner with software asset management, sourcing, and IS& T teams to establish consistent controls, reporting methods, and lifecycle management practices.

Serve as a primary point of contact for vendor-related communications, helping align internal teams and external partners on expectations and outcomes.

Drive data consolidation initiatives that bring together contract, spend, and usage insights for more informed vendor management decisions.

Monitor vendor performance and compliance across the engagement lifecycle and recommend corrective actions where needed. Requirements • 5+ years of experience in project or program management, preferably within IT, vendor management, or contract governance environments.

Strong background in vendor management, contract renewals, and governance processes for software or technology suppliers.

Experience working with SaaS vendors, software asset management practices, and IT governance frameworks.

Ability to interpret and organize contract, usage, compliance, and spend data to support business decisions.

Familiarity with project delivery methodologies such as Agile Scrum and tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.

PMP certification or comparable project management credential is preferred.

Proven ability to work across cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external vendors. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
