Create shop drawings for custom commercial kitchen equipment, including floor plans, elevations, and any other specifications provided. Solid modeling is required, and a background in sheet metal is a plus. Design custom stainless steel equipment meeting specific customer and industry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create shop drawings for custom equipment, including floor plans, elevations, and any other specifications provided.

• Design and draft complex parts and assemblies with mechanical design/integration skills.

• Manage large assemblies consisting of sheet metal, parts, sub-assemblies, hardware, and imported files.

• Collaborate with project managers to deliver drafts for customer review.

• Simultaneously work on multiple projects and prioritize deadlines.

• Establish better modeling skills, software training, and ways of improvement for other Design Engineers.

• Produce DXF drawings for laser cutters and bends, and draft electrical drawings.

• Troubleshoot and adapt model files from CAD library to meet customer specifications.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SolidEdge.

• Experience with 3D modeling and managing large CAD assemblies.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

• Knowledge of GD&T for manufacturing sheet metal.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience, preferably in the food service industry.

• Experience with sheet metal and interpreting drawings.

• Capability to manipulate existing drawings and read specifications.

• Experience with welding and fabrication.

Work Environment

This position is on-site and involves working closely with project managers and other design engineers to deliver high-quality custom commercial kitchen equipment. The work involves using Siemens SolidEdge for solid 3D-modeling of sheet metal and requires familiarity with a PDM Product Management Database.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oviedo, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
