Full job description

Description

Do you want to lead programs that shape how AWS runs its infrastructure in places most people never see? We keep AWS running everywhere outside the big data centers (edge sites, on-premises customer locations, 5G networks and satellite ground stations), and we're looking for a senior program manager to drive our most important programs from idea to delivery at global scale.

Our team supports AWS infrastructure in hundreds of locations around the world, and we're growing fast. As we scale, we need new programs, tools and ways of working, and many of them have no playbook yet. You'll take on big, unclear problems and turn them into clear plans. You'll line up the teams needed to deliver them, and you'll see them through to results we can measure.

You'll partner with senior operations leaders, data center engineers, technicians, product teams and outside partners, and you'll influence all of them without direct authority. Your programs will directly shape how reliably AWS customers can run their workloads, wherever those workloads live.

In this role, you will:

-Own complex, multi-team programs end to end, from defining scope and success criteria through planning, delivery and adoption

-Build program roadmaps, manage dependencies and risks, and keep stakeholders across teams aligned on priorities and timelines

-Set up the metrics, goals and review cadence that show whether programs are delivering, and step in early when they aren't

-Write clear, data-driven narratives that frame tradeoffs and drive decisions with senior leaders

-Find opportunities to scale operations through automation, tooling and new mechanisms, and turn them into funded, delivered programs

-Raise the bar on program management across the team, and mentor others on planning, execution and stakeholder management

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Knowledge of general AI tools

  • Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions
