Service Writer - 1st Shift ATC, Inc. - Cedar Rapids, IA $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience | Full-time ATC, Inc. is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our 1st shift team. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, communicates well, and can help keep customers, technicians, and service operations moving smoothly. The right candidate will have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced repair shop environment. What You'll Do - Greet customers and assist with service needs - Write up repair orders and document customer concerns clearly - Communicate repair needs, estimates, approvals, and status updates to customers - Coordinate with technicians, parts staff, and service management - Schedule service appointments and help manage shop workflow - Review technician notes and help ensure repair orders are accurate - Prepare customer invoices and collect payment when needed - Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and provide professional customer support - Maintain accurate records and follow company service procedures - Help resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner What We're Looking For - Previous service writer, service advisor, customer service, automotive, diesel, truck, trailer, RV, or equipment experience preferred - Strong communication and listening skills - Excellent customer service and problem-solving ability - Strong organization and attention to detail - Basic computer and data-entry skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities - Mechanical knowledge or repair shop experience is a plus - Valid driver's license preferred - Dependable attendance and a professional attitude Schedule and Pay - 1st Shift position - Full-time employment - $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience - Stable daytime schedule Benefits and Growth ATC, Inc. offers steady work, competitive pay, and long-term career opportunities.
