Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience in technology sales or working with customers in a sales role.

  • Experience in Retail or Carrier industries.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the consumer electronics industry, with retail partners or at a retailer.

  • Experience in account management, buying, go-to-market, or category management.

  • Proven ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational level, and to successfully launch new products in the market.

  • Ability to manage ambiguity, solve problems, and scale effectively across a large organization.

  • Long-term strategic thinking balanced with near-term execution skills, and ability to distill complex data into meaningful and coherent stories.

  • Strong combination of communication, analytical, and execution skills.

About the job

The Hardware Partnerships team was formed with the purpose of bringing the best of Google’s software and hardware to our users by bringing to market and distributing a Google-branded hardware portfolio. The team is responsible for managing all partnerships with carriers, retailers and resellers worldwide. This includes the partnerships for products such as Google Fitbit Air, Google Home Speaker, Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest Doorbell, etc.

As a Strategic Partner Manager, you will be involved in the product lifecycle for your accounts. Helping to define which products Google hardware should develop, the strategy of how to bring them to market, how to manage them once in market, and how to transition them into the next helpful hardware product.

The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $94000 - $135000 (USD) + 53.85% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead a new product introduction for your retail partners; manage, track, and report retail readiness. Help develop and conduct product presentations for retail and external partners. Design end of life and product transition strategies.

  • Develop go-to-market strategies for your retail partners. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver optimized planning and execution.

  • Develop analysis needed to support plans, manage budgets, and deliver volume/revenue goals.

  • Build and own relationships with key retail partners and internal cross-functional teams.

  • Report on performance, engaged activities, and market dynamics. Adjust strategy where needed based upon business conditions.
