Job description

Position: CAD Innovation Specialist

Location: South Carolina

Salary: $120,000-$170,000 based on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a CAD Innovation Specialist to lead the development, standardization, and optimization of Civil 3D and AutoCAD workflows across our Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture teams. This individual will serve as the firm's technical expert, helping drive efficiency, consistency, quality, and innovation across multiple offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Civil 3D and AutoCAD standards, templates, and workflows.

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and related design software.

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and user training.

  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation tools, and workflow enhancements.

  • Create and maintain CAD libraries, technical resources, and internal standards.

  • Lead software implementations, upgrades, testing, and onboarding initiatives.

  • Assist with plan reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.

  • Research emerging technologies, including AI and automation solutions, to improve project delivery.

  • Collaborate with leadership, design teams, and IT to support strategic technology initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of civil engineering design and plan production experience.

  • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.

  • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, surfaces, corridors, and plan production workflows.

  • Experience developing CAD standards, templates, and best practices.

  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and support technical users.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Experience with Civil 3D customization, scripting, or workflow automation preferred.

  • Familiarity with additional Autodesk platforms is a plus.

  • PE license preferred but not required.
