Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Python Developer – Kafka & CDC Integration for a leading healthcare client. This candidate will join a high-impact project focused on enrollment through fulfillment initiatives and real-time data integration. The ideal candidate will have strong Python development experience coupled with expertise in Kafka event streaming and CDC technologies. They will be responsible for designing and building scalable event-driven solutions, developing Kafka producers and consumers, integrating CDC platforms with enterprise architectures, and supporting real-time data movement across critical business systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys working with modern integration technologies, distributed systems, microservices, and large-scale healthcare data environments in a fully remote setting. Visa candidates will be considered.

  • Develop and maintain Python applications for Kafka event publishing and consumption
  • Build scalable Kafka producers and consumers for real-time integrations
  • Process, transform, enrich, and route CDC events across enterprise systems
  • Integrate CDC platforms such as Debezium or HVR with Kafka architectures
  • Implement retry handling, idempotent processing, and Dead Letter Queue (DLQ) strategies
  • Develop RESTful APIs and microservices supporting event-driven solutions
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, and engineering teams on integration design
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Kafka-based applications
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployments, and production support
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks
  • Follow enterprise security, governance, and coding standards

Skills and Requirements

  • 3-5 years of hands-on Python development experience
  • Strong experience building and supporting Kafka producers and consumers
  • Experience with CDC (Change Data Capture) events and real-time data integration
  • Strong understanding of Kafka topics, partitions, consumer groups, offsets, retention, and delivery guarantees
  • Experience with Apache Kafka and/or Confluent Kafka
  • Experience developing REST APIs and microservices
  • Experience with JSON, Avro, and schema-driven messaging patterns
  • Understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architecture
  • Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines
  • FastAPI, Flask, kafka-python, or confluent-kafka experience
  • Strong SQL Server database experience
  • .NET Core / ASP.NET Core development
  • Angular and TypeScript experience
  • Experience with Debezium, HVR/Fivetran, or other CDC tools
  • Kafka Connect and Schema Registry experience
  • Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, or Prometheus exposure
  • Healthcare, payer, provider, claims, eligibility, or member domain experience
  • Full-stack development experience with Python or .NET backend and Angular front-end
