As a designated Critical Access Hospital, we also provide Emergency Department care, inpatient Acute Care, and Swing Bed services., We are currently seeking a Per Diem Personal Care Tech to join our team and experience the unique opportunity of rural healthcare at its best. Provide compassionate, total care for a group of patients throughout their stay, ensuring every patient and coworker is treated with respect and dignity. 2. Multi-task seamlessly between the Emergency Department and Acute Care unit to promote quality, safety, and excellence in care. 3. Deliver essential daily care, including assisting patients with meals, ADLs, moving and handling, and escorting patients to scheduled appointments. 4. Perform core clinical skills safely and accurately, including taking vital signs, monitoring I&O, tracking heights/weights, and acting as a safety sitter. 5. Conduct technical clinical tasks such as performing EKGs, telemetry application, foley catheter care, wound dressing changes, and collecting specimen samples (urine, stool, nasal/nasopharyngeal swabs). 6. Notice changes in patient conditions and report abnormal findings immediately to the RN on duty. 7. Communicate clearly and collaboratively with hospital staff, patients, and families to create a culture of safety and keep everyone informed. 8. Coordinate staffing and scheduling to support the smooth operations of the ED and acute unit. 9. Maintain compliance with departmental policies, procedures, protocols, and federal, state, and local regulations. 10. Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives. 11. Take advantage of opportunities for additional hours by assisting with courier services (lab runs, etc.). Qualifications 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Two years of progressive healthcare experience. 3. Maintain a relevant, current CPR certification. 4. Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across multiple departments. 5. Ability to meet physical demands, including moving freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, pulling) and lifting up to 25 pounds without assistance. 6. Comfort working in an environment with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens. 7. Willingness to complete on-the-job training with skills sign-off, with an eagerness to advance into higher-level skills (such as foley insertion/removal, phlebotomy, IV insertion, running labs, and cardiac monitoring). 8.
