Job Description

Day to Day: The Customs Clearance Quality Assurance & Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the quality, compliance, and performance objectives of Customs Clearance operations through the administration and delivery of quality assurance and training programs for import and export activities. This role evaluates operational performance, conducts audits and analyses of customs clearance transactions and customer interactions, identifies compliance and knowledge gaps, and provides targeted coaching and training to improve employee effectiveness and regulatory adherence. Working closely with operations leaders, supervisors, and cross-functional stakeholders, this role delivers training programs, monitors competency and quality standards, and measures training effectiveness to ensure employees have the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles accurately and compliantly. The role contributes to operational excellence by identifying opportunities for process improvement, supporting the implementation of new initiatives and systems.

Key Accountabilities: Evaluate customs clearance agent performance quality and compliance through monitoring, auditing & analysis of entries, customer interactions and corrections Set quality objectives, conduct evaluations, and provide ongoing feedback Partner with senior leaders and department managers to assess skill gaps and define training priorities Work closely with team managers and supervisors to conduct post-training evaluations and coaching to gauge training effectiveness and identify strengths for reinforcement and weaknesses for further training Schedule, deliver and facilitate individual or group training and development programs in support of the business goals and objectives Reinforce mandated training programs (air carrier and government specific), awareness training, and specific departmental training classes/programs Participate on cross-functional teams to improve Learning and Development systems and processes Consult with managers and leaders in the business to understand business problems and opportunities to enhance eLearning and deployment or other learning technology solutions Participate and contribute in cross-departmental collaborations to identify areas for service improvement covering processes or controls and recommend specific clearance improvement actions Assist in the implementation of new initiatives or system releases Paying $100-115K+ depending on experience & location.

Skills and Requirements

U.S. Customs Broker License – Must Have! Individual contributor role - No direct reports to oversee Clearance training knowledge & experience preferred Understanding of adult learning concepts Effective presentation and facilitation skills Excellent communication skills, spoken and written Excellent interpersonal and listening skills Analytical, organizational and motivational skills Must be flexible and adapt quickly to changing environments
