Full job description

This is a full time, Non-Civil Service position with Metro Action Commission. The Head Start Teacher 2 is under the direct supervision of the Head Start Center Manager and the general supervision of Head Start Assistant Center Manager.

  • Help children develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally
  • Plan, document, and implement daily lesson plans and special activities
  • Attend staff meetings, training and other related meetings as requested
  • Responsible for all consultation(s) with parents
  • Maintain current records, perform tasks associated with the education component, and assure confidentiality
  • Maintain proper supervision of children at all times indoors and outdoors
  • Document and implement integration of component events in the classroom (i.e., handwashing, toileting, tooth brushing, preparing children for health services and community visits)
  • Report any children concerns to the (assigned) Parent, Family, Community, and Engagement Advocate
  • Report suspected child abuse or neglect to the immediate supervisor
  • Insure daily implementation of the family style food service
  • Support and assist volunteers serving in the education program
  • Assume other task-related duties as requested

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Valid Driver License.
