Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)- PRN - Respiratory Care

Work location: Texas Health Kaufman- 850 Ed Hall Dr, Kaufman, TX 75142

Work hours: PRN- Open to days and nights. Most availability will be within nights.

Respiratory Care Department highlights:

  • Work with a dynamic and knowledgeable team

  • Over 192 years of experience with our RT staff

  • New Ventilators onsite

Here's What You Need

  • Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program is required

  • 1 Year Med/Surg or critical care experience preferred is preferred

  • 3 years of RRT Experience is strongly preferred

  • RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner Upon Hire is required And

  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist Upon Hire is required And

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required And

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days is required And

  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required

  • Good verbal communications, good interpersonal skills, computer experience

What You Will Do

  • Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validate for appropriateness.

  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs. 35%

  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.

  • Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.

  • Administers medication in a safe/correct manner, adhering to medication administration guidelines. Reports unsafe conditions and equipment in

  • proper/timely manner.

  • Responds to emergency situations.
