Job Description:

The Inpatient Pharmacy Supervisor provides frontline leadership and operational oversight for pharmacy services within an assigned shift, unit, or functional area (e.g., inpatient dispensing, sterile compounding, decentralized clinical services). This role ensures safe, accurate, timely, and cost-effective medication management in compliance with state and federal pharmacy law, USP / standards, and hospital policy. The Supervisor coordinates daily workflow, supervises pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, supports quality and medication-safety initiatives, and serves as a key liaison between staff and pharmacy department leadership.

Education:

  • Doctoral Degree School of Pharmacy - Accredited by ACPE - Required

Experience:

  • 5 years experience in an Acute Care Hospital Pharmacy - Required

  • Experience working with Epic EHR - Preferred

  • Experience with USP / sterile compounding oversight - Preferred

  • 1 year of supervisory experience - Preferred

  • Prior lead, charge, or supervisory experience in a pharmacy setting preferred; demonstrated leadership, precepting, or committee participation may be considered in lieu of formal supervisory title.

  • ASHP PGY1 residency - Preferred

Certifications/Licensures:

  • RPH Registered Pharmacist - California Board of Pharmacy - Required

  • Pharmacist BPS Board certification - Preferred

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of California and federal pharmacy law, DEA regulations, and USP compounding standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and develop staff in a fast-paced clinical environment.

  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage competing priorities and respond to urgent situations.

  • Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, automated dispensing technology, and standard office software.

M ust have the ability to work all shifts, including weekends

Work Shift:

Exempt Days (Mon-Fri) (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$99.60 - $149.39

Hourly

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.

Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.

Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
