REGISTRAR OF VOTERS Temporary Election Worker Specialist Logistics and Warehouse Operations - Route Driver
The County of San Diego Registrar of Voters is seeking drivers to fill temporary logistics operations employment positions for the upcoming November 3, 2026, election. The ideal candidate for this position follows direction, is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism. Strong communication skills, and the ability to safely operate county vehicles are essential to ensure smooth and efficient election logistics.

Schedule:
Depending on your availability from October 5, 2026, through November 5, 2026:

Training (9/25 or 9/26)
-
The first two weeks may include part-time (up to 30 hours) based on operational needs (10/5-10/16)
-
The following two weeks may shift to near full-time and include weekends (up to 40 hours) as workload increases (10/19 – 11/1)

Standard hours may be 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday through Friday

The last week will have extended hours (11/2-11/5)

Election Day operations will require team members to work more than 12 hours in a day (11/3) All schedules subject to change General Skills/ Abilities:

Proficient in the use of a smartphone
-
Ability to operate vehicles safely in varied traffic, weather, and road conditions
-
Proficient in using GPS systems, maps, and navigation tools; able to adjust routes as needed

Strong time management skills with the ability to meet daily collection schedules
-
Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge, including performing routine checks and identifying potential issues
-
High attention to detail to ensure all collections are accurate and secure
-
Physical ability to lift, load, and unload items repeatedly throughout the day
-
Accurate recordkeeping and documentation skills
-
Problem-solving abilities to address unexpected delays, closures, or equipment issues

Professional communication and customer service skills when interacting with voters or the public

Knowledge of and adherence to all relevant safety, traffic, and operational regulations

Ability to learn new work processes and procedures

Drive mid-size vehicle using a route list and a set schedule

Properly store supplies in designated locations

Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and order of the warehouse by using brooms, mops, disinfectants, solvents or other cleaning tools or supplies
