Full job description

Description We are looking for a Tax Preparer to support individuals and small businesses with accurate, timely tax filing and financial review. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical tax knowledge with a thoughtful, client-focused approach. The position is seasonal, with the potential for continued work beyond peak tax season.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and examine personal, business, and corporate tax filings using tax and accounting platforms such as UltraTax, SurePrep, and QuickBooks.

  • Review income statements, balance sheets, and supporting bookkeeping records to verify completeness, consistency, and accuracy before submission.

  • Apply current federal and state tax rules to filings and daily work to help maintain compliance with changing requirements.

  • Evaluate financial information to identify possible tax advantages, process improvements, and areas that may require further attention.

  • Respond to questions in a courteous and timely manner, providing clear guidance throughout the tax preparation process.

  • Work closely with colleagues when resolving more intricate tax matters or interpreting complex financial situations.

  • Organize and maintain tax documentation and related records to support efficient preparation and accurate reporting. Requirements • 5+ years of experience preparing tax returns for individuals and business entities.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals, financial reporting, and technical accounting concepts.

  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, UltraTax, and other relevant tax preparation software.

  • Background in bookkeeping, corporate accounting, and financial analysis.

  • Excellent numerical accuracy and close attention to detail when handling data and calculations.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for both client service and internal collaboration.

  • Ability to keep pace with changes in tax legislation and apply updates appropriately.

  • CPA, EA, or a comparable tax credential is required.
