Full job description
There is an opening opening for an Automotive Mechanic in the Transportation Department of East Irondequoit Central School District. This is a 12-month, 8-hour per day position working 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch.
Responsibilities are but not limited to the following:

Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections, oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.

Diagnostics: Use computer software and diagnostic tools to isolate engine, electrical, and mechanical failures.

Safety Compliance: Ensure all brake systems, emergency exits, and suspension components meet DOT regulations.

Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date work orders and repair logs.
Job Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid NYS Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement or eligible to obtain
Professional diesel or heavy-duty automotive experience and/or automotive certification preferred
