The Service Designer will guide government clients through the Design Intelligence™ framework, applying human‑centered methods to solve organization and experience challenges, lead discovery sessions, serve as the voice of the customer, and ensure high‑quality deliverables across projects.

Key focus areas include Participate in all aspects of discovery to understand client mission and goals, stakeholders, users and ecosystems, current state journeys, user segments, program and project objectives, Conduct workshops and interviews to frame pain points and opportunities, define problem statements and validate hypothesis, and Synthesize research and data to communicate insights and make recommendations that shape mission and program strategy, service and workflow innovations, and future experience vision.

Successful candidates bring Ability To Obtain U.S. Government Public Trust Security Clearance, 4+ Years Experience In Human Centered Design, Service Design, And/Or Customer Experience Design, and Degree Or Equivalent Experience In HCD And/Or Service Design. Important skills include Human-Centered Methods, Facilitation, Discovery Sessions, Voice Of The Customer, Conduct Workshops, and Conduct Interviews. Preferred (not required): Federal Government Work Experience, Consultant Work Experience, Design Intelligence Framework, and Keep Pace With Industry Tools And Best Practices.

Overview

As a Service Designer , you will be responsible for guiding government clients through our Design Intelligence™ framework, incorporating human-centered methods to solve end to end organization and experience challenges. You will lead and facilitate discovery sessions that uncover customer pain points and identify enterprise opportunities. You will serve as the voice of the customer, making sure their needs are considered and met within a proposed solution.

  • Conduct workshops and interviews toframe pain pointsandopportunities; define problem statements andvalidatehypothesis

  • Synthesize researchanddatato communicate insightsand make recommendationsthat will shapemission/program strategy,serviceand workflowinnovations, anda compellingfutureexperiencevision

  • Createjourney maps, service blueprints,vision road maps,personas,ecosystemand experience mapsthat articulateneeds, gaps, andactionable recommendations for organizational andprocessimprovements

  • Collaborate and communicate stakeholder and user needs on a cross functional team within an agileenvironment

  • Understand and embrace the specifications and constraints of a given technology, platform and/or operational environmentand understand how research should be integrated into technologicalconsiderations

  • Ensureall deliverables across a variety of projectsare produced at the highestquality

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. governmentPublic Trust SecurityClearance

  • 4+ years of experience in human centered design, service design,and/orcustomer experiencedesign

  • Current portfoliodemonstratingideology, methods, tools, skills, and craft

  • Thorough knowledge anddemonstratedexperience conducting primary and secondary research including stakeholder and user-interviews, design-thinking and co-creation workshops and applying those insights to personas, journey maps, process maps, ecosystem maps, roadmaps, stakeholder maps, and serviceblueprints

  • Experienceworking on a scrum team within the Agile delivery frameworkand experience integrating research and design into technical sprints including writingstories and storypointing

  • Proficiencyin tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Mural, andLucidchart

  • Desire to keep pace with ever-changing industry tools and best practices with the ability to make recommendations as needed for the bestoutcome

  • Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including UX/UI designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and changemanagers

  • A natural curiosity for solving problems coupled with strong analyticalskills

  • A collaborative nature with excellent written communication and presentation skills

  • Experience working in a project-basedenvironment

  • Degree or equivalent experience in HCD, and/orservicedesign

Bonus Points

  • Previouswork experience in or with the federal government

  • Previouswork experience as a consultant

The projected compensation range for this position is $85,000 to $150,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
