Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee core accounting activities for a portfolio of real estate properties and related entities in the Trevose, Pennsylvania area. This position is suited for a detail-oriented individual who can balance property-level accounting with broader corporate responsibilities while keeping financial records accurate and deadlines on track. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to financial reporting, strengthen day-to-day accounting processes, and support a growing organization in the real estate property and facilities management sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee general ledger maintenance for multiple real estate entities and property accounts, ensuring transactions are recorded completely and accurately.

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and meeting reporting deadlines.

  • Create and post journal entries, complete account analyses, and maintain documentation that supports financial activity.

  • Reconcile operating bank accounts, security deposit and escrow balances, and intercompany transactions across related entities.

  • Support tenant-related accounting by reviewing rent activity, tracking lease-driven billings, and validating recovery calculations.

  • Assist in preparing financial statements, audit support files, and detailed workpapers for external accounting partners.

  • Monitor balance sheet accounts, including accruals, prepaid items, and fixed assets, to maintain reliable financial reporting.

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, enhance reconciliations, and keep internal records well organized.

  • Use real estate accounting platforms and related tools to manage reporting and maintain accurate property-level financial data.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • At least 3 years of accounting experience, with preference for experience in commercial real estate or property management environments.

  • Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation practices.

  • Experience handling bank reconciliations, intercompany balances, and detailed balance sheet reviews.

  • Familiarity with tenant recoveries, lease-related accounting, or CAM reconciliation is strongly preferred.

  • CPA certification, or progress toward certification, is preferred.

  • Experience with real estate accounting software such as Yardi, Skyline, or comparable systems is a plus.

  • Advanced Excel skills and a high level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
