Not Interested in Sitting Behind a Desk All Day?

If you enjoy working with your hands, traveling to customer sites across the country, solving complex mechanical problems, and seeing the direct impact of your work, this opportunity is for you.

OASIS Alignment Services is looking for a Metrology Engineer/Technician to join our growing team supporting the Western U.S. region. This is a field-focused role where you'll work on large-scale industrial equipment, utilize cutting-edge 3D laser metrology technology, and tackle unique challenges at customer facilities every week.

No two days are the same. One week you may be aboard a naval vessel, the next inside a power plant, manufacturing facility, or heavy industrial operation helping customers improve performance, reliability, and precision.

If you thrive in the field, enjoy travel, and want a career that combines advanced technology with hands-on mechanical work, we'd like to hear from you.

Requirements

What You'll Do

  • Travel approximately 80% of the time throughout North America, often on multi-day assignments

  • Utilize advanced laser metrology and alignment equipment to collect precision measurement data

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, alignment, and geometric issues on large industrial machinery

  • Perform and oversee corrective alignment and maintenance activities

  • Analyze measurement data and provide practical solutions to improve equipment performance

  • Create detailed technical service reports and 3D modeling documentation

  • Support project planning, scoping, and quoting efforts

  • Train customers and team members on metrology tools and alignment techniques

  • Work directly with customers to solve critical operational challenges

What We're Looking For

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • Strong foundation in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with AutoCAD

  • Strong written communication and technical reporting skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications

  • Ability and desire to travel extensively

  • Self-starter who enjoys working independently in the field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, BuildIT, Spatial Analyzer, CAM2, or PolyWorks

  • Experience with laser tracking, alignment, or industrial metrology systems

  • Naval, Marine, Manufacturing, Energy, Aerospace, or Heavy Industrial experience

  • Leadership potential and interest in advancing into a technical leadership role

Grow Your Career

This position offers a clear path for advancement into technical leadership and project management roles. We're looking for motivated individuals who want to develop into leaders within the next 1-2 years.

Why OASIS?

At OASIS Alignment Services, we don't just measure equipment. We solve problems that keep critical industries running.

What you'll enjoy:

  • Extensive travel and exposure to diverse industries and locations

  • Hands-on work with world-class measurement and alignment technology

  • Challenging projects that require creativity and mechanical expertise

  • A high level of autonomy and responsibility

  • Continuous technical training and career development

  • Opportunities for rapid growth and leadership advancement

If you're the kind of person who would rather be on a customer site troubleshooting a complex mechanical challenge than sitting in a cubicle, OASIS offers a career where your skills, curiosity, and work ethic can make a real impact.
