You will work out of the Interwest office closest to you: Burlington, Everett, Port Angeles, or Yakima [confirm]. Site visits are day trips in a company car, so you are home every night. What you'll do Reporting to our Chief Estimator, you will lead estimates and proposals that win the right work for Interwest:

• Lead the preparation of complete estimates and proposals, from concept sketches to full construction drawings and specifications

• Study plans and specifications, build quantity takeoffs, and project costs for each item of work

• Review bid documents ahead of bid day and guide estimating support staff to completion

• Identify, solicit, and evaluate bids from vendors and qualified subcontractors

• Visit project sites before completing the estimate whenever possible

• Set up estimates, run cost reviews, and develop bid pricing in HCSS HeavyBid

• Support design-build and alternative procurement pursuits: work with design teams and help write technical proposals

• Help the project team with buyout once we win the work

• Analyze cost data and trends and prepare reports for leadership

What you bring

• 5+ years of estimating experience on projects over $5 million, ideally heavy civil

• HCSS HeavyBid experience

• Bluebeam Revu experience

• Working knowledge of construction equipment, methods, materials, drawings, and specifications

• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

• A self-starter who is process oriented, data driven, and proactive

• Organized under pressure: you can juggle multiple bids and hit bid-day deadlines

• Clear verbal and written communication with every level of the organization

• A valid driver's license (you'll visit project sites in a company car)

• Degree in Construction Management, Business Management, or Civil Engineering
