Sweetser is hiring for a RN for our school in Saco!

Promotes and restores patient's health by providing health care services in a competent mannerconsistent with parameters of training and licensure.

Starting Rate: $33.00 - $35.97 hourly dependent on years of experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide quality care by assuming primary nursingresponsibility for the care of residents/clients in programs/cottages.

  • Assists consulting psychiatrists and specialists bycoordinating their services for assigned residents/clients and providingtransport as needed.

  • Implements orders for care, including medicationorders via written and oral communication with staff, using the organization’scomputer system.

  • Assures medication accuracy by ordering, labeling,packaging, distributing and checking that medications ordered by the physicianare administered.

  • Helps residents to their medical appointments bytransporting as needed.

  • Follows policies and procedures for dispensingpsychotropic medications by preparing the written consent forms.

  • Assures current and accurate medical records bymaintaining an accurate computer database and consistently charting significanthealth related interactions.

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

  • Associates degree required, bachelor’s preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Current RN license in the State of Maine.

  • CPR Certified

  • Valid driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE:

  • One (1) year of clinical nursing experience.

  • Pediatric and/or psychiatric nursing experience.

  • Use of otoscope, stethoscope, nebulizer, and sphygmomanometer.
