SUMMARY
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing ultrasound procedures on patients of every age utilizing approved techniques and producing quality scans for physician interpretation
RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews medical record for patient history and clinical data for correlation with sonogram

Positions patient, explains procedure, and provides patient education

Performs ultrasound procedures on patients of every age utilizing approved protocol Displays knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and/or physiological data to obtain optimal studies

Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during procedure

Selects technical factors and imaging mode

Evaluates sonogram for technical quality and prepares for physician interpretation
QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Medical Sonography Program

Current ARRT certification and/or Medical Sonography with registry eligibility

RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) preferred.

SKILLS: Ability to operate ultrasound equipment and produce quality images. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and employees within the organization.

Ultrasound experience preferred
