Full job description
About the role Paro is hiring a Marketing Manager to own how buyers find, learn about, and engage with us online. You'll lead our SEO and AI search program, with one main goal: driving qualified organic leads to our sales team. You'll also run our marketing website and manage our social, email, and sales content. You'll lead a team of specialized contractors, setting direction, managing the work, and holding a high bar for quality. A strong writer and editor at heart, you'll be the final voice on everything we publish.
You'll work closely with our SEO contractor, contract writers, contract web developers, our graphic design team, and sales. You'll report to the VP of Marketing.
What you'll do
- Lead SEO and AI search. Own our organic and AI-driven search program (including visibility in tools like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Gemini), with the goal of driving qualified leads to our sales team. Partner with our SEO contractor to shape and execute the strategy, prioritizing topics and pages that attract buyers, not just traffic. Turn that strategy into a content plan, write briefs, assign work to contract writers, edit every draft for quality and voice, and manage deadlines through publication. Track performance against lead goals, and work with sales to understand which leads convert and refine the program accordingly.
- Run the marketing website. Own the site's performance and content. Identify and implement optimizations, manage end-to-end production of new pages and landing pages, and lead weekly production check-ins with our contract web developers.
- Own social media. Build and manage the content calendar for our social channels, create posts, and publish consistently.
- Manage email marketing. Produce our bimonthly newsletter and other email campaigns to our marketing lists. Test and refine subject lines, content, and timing to improve open, click, and conversion rates.
- Create sales collateral. Partner with sales to develop one-sheets, case studies, and other materials that help close deals.
- Direct creative production. Brief and collaborate with our graphic design team to deliver on-brand assets for web, social, email, and events.
- Support events. Help execute conference sponsorships, including booth materials, promotional content, and pre- and post-event outreach.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in B2B or digital marketing, with at least 2 years owning SEO or content marketing programs
- Exceptional writing and editing skills. You can turn a rough draft into clear, polished copy, and you have a portfolio to show it
- A track record of turning organic search into qualified leads and pipeline, not just traffic, plus a working understanding of how AI search is changing content strategy
- Experience managing specialized contractors or agencies (such as SEO consultants, writers, and web developers), including setting priorities, writing briefs, and holding them to deadlines and quality standards
- Hands-on experience with a website CMS (such as WordPress or Webflow) and coordinating with web developers
- Experience running email programs in a platform such as HubSpot, Marketo, or Mailchimp
- Comfort with SEO and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, Semrush, or Ahrefs
- Excellent project management skills: you can juggle many deliverables, deadlines, and stakeholders at once
Nice to have
- Experience in the finance or accounting industry
- Familiarity with generative engine optimization (GEO) tactics such as structured data, entity optimization, and citation-worthy content
- Basic HTML/CSS skills
- Experience creating sales enablement content or case studies with customers
- Experience supporting trade shows or conference sponsorships
Compensation and details
- Salary: $85,000 to $110,000 base, depending on experience
- Location: Remote, but must be based in Chicago area
- Reports to: VP of Marketing
