DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position delivers nursing care and treatment to inmates with physical or mental health needs, behavioral challenges, or developmental disabilities. The role supports daily functioning, medical assessments, treatments, reporting, and emergency response within the facility. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties: 1. Care Delivery: Check vital signs, administer medications, provide treatments, and reinforce health education 2. Clinical Support: Assist clinicians during examinations, screenings, immunizations, and testing procedures 3. Emergency Actions: Provide first aid, CPR, AED response, and assessments during medical emergencies 4. Record Keeping: Document care activities, update electronic health records, and prepare reports for transfers or release 5. Supply Management: Sterilize instruments, maintain inventory, and ensure adequate stock in treatment areas 6. The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 3. 1st shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm; 2nd shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm; and 3rd shift: 10:00 pm to 6:30 am. 4. Work hours TO BE DETERMINED. 5. Alternative work schedules may be available, depending on operational needs. 6. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. 7. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 8.
