Job Summary:
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Program Manager to work within our Aeronautical Systems Finance Solutions & Services group in Poway, CA. The person selected for this role will be responsible for management of the Finance Special Projects team while leading business process transformational activities through the use of measurements, analysis and discussion of process alternatives to arrive at best practices through a wide array of techniques including the application of resources reporting directly to this position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage business process transformation activities through direct participation in projects of both a functional and technical nature, including the application of team resources to these initiatives ensuring strategy and goals align driving value that achieves business objectives.

Provide clear direction, coaching, and mentoring to assigned employees, fostering an environment of teamwork, accountability, openness, and continuous improvement.

Establish clear goals, priorities, performance expectations, and measures of success.
-
Monitor team workload, capacity, morale, and development needs, taking appropriate action or escalating concerns when necessary.
-
Identify issues, recommend solutions, and manage the business case(s) for transformation of business functions.
-
Advise business groups on prioritization, integration and resource application to achieve stated business goals while solving business problems through process and technology thereby driving value throughout the enterprise.

Participate in the development and implementation of current and annual strategic objectives.
-
Maintain relationships across a broad stakeholder base to develop, maintain and implement policy, practice and guidelines to ensure process transformation programs are attained, adopted and upheld long term.

Utilize tact, organizational awareness, and sound judgement, using appropriate escalation paths as required to achieve desired results when met with resistance to change.

Manage retention and development of human resources to ensure availability of required professional and technical talent.

Actively Manage Performance Management for resources.

Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
-
Typically requires a bachelors degree in business administration, information technology or related discipline and nine or more years of progressive Business Program Management experience (e.g., strategic business, operations, business process, program administration, or project/business management). Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.

Must have thorough knowledge of business process principles, concepts, theory, and practices as well as strong project leadership skills, including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines.

Must be able to contribute to the development of new business process principles and concepts and be able to resolve complex management problems.
-
Must be able to serve as a spokesperson for projects and/or programs and possess strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with others.

Ability to transition from individual project ownership to broader accountability for team performance, capability, and results.
-
Ability to establish standards, templates, processes, and performance measures that improve consistency and execution.
-
Must be customer focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.

Proficient with various software suites including but not limited to: MS Word, MS Teams, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS Visio.

Must be able to work extended hours and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with tools such as SAP and its functionality, Jira, Power Automate, and SharePoint is highly desirable

Certifications such as PMP, CSM, or Six Sigma are highly desirable
-
Experience with agile implementation, transformation initiatives, organizational change management, or process adoption is highly desirable

Experience working in a complex regulated environment is highly desirable
