Control Systems Project Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire a Systems Project Engineer for one of their premier Oil and Gas clients in the Woodlands area. On a daily basis, this person will be supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of control and safety systems projects for offshore and onshore oil & gas facilities. They will work closely with the Project Manager to manage project scope, schedule, deliverables, and technical execution throughout the project lifecycle. They will also coordinate and participate in system cutover planning, execution, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure safe and successful transitions.

Strategic Engineering Input

• Identify ICSS system obsolescence and propose upgrade paths.

• Specify procurement needs for compatible hardware/software.

• Define engineering scope aligned with project goals. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work with internal teams (e.g., Oxy Automation Ops, Cyber Security).

• Coordinate with external partners (system integrators, contractors).

• Participate in alignment meetings to finalize upgrade strategies. Technical Communication

• Share updates and decisions with stakeholders.

• Maintain accurate and current documentation. 5Testing and Validation Support

• Support FAT/SAT procedure development.

• Assist with lab setup and execution for validation.

Skills and Requirements

*10-15+ years of experience in Control and Safety Systems

*Offshore or Onshore oil and gas background

*Proficiency in Allen Bradley/Wonderware Intouch to Systems Platform, Honeywell Experion

*Experience in ICSS and HMI systems
