Job Description

This role supports environmental, energy, and industrial services by performing both emergency response and scheduled work. You will respond to hazardous material incidents, support industrial facility maintenance, and contribute to site remediation and environmental cleanup projects. The position is physically demanding, involves working in challenging outdoor and industrial environments, and requires strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to environmental emergencies, including chemical spills, fuel spills, and hazardous material releases, in a safe and timely manner.

  • Perform general maintenance duties at industrial facilities such as refineries, manufacturing plants, landfills, and construction sites.

  • Climb ladders and scaffolding and operate lifts as needed to access work areas safely.

  • Work in confined spaces while following all applicable confined space entry procedures and safety protocols.

  • Support site remediation and environmental cleanup activities, including cleaning up chemical spills, natural disaster debris, and other contaminants, and ensuring proper disposal of materials.

  • Load and unload hazardous materials in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Decontaminate and sanitize tools, equipment, and work areas after use to prevent contamination and ensure safe operation.

  • Wear and properly use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including chemical-resistant suits, gloves, hearing protection, goggles, face shields, respirators, and Hazmat suits.

  • Participate in on-call emergency response rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and respond to after-hours incidents as needed.

  • Follow OSHA, EPA, DOT, and internal safety policies and procedures at all times.

  • Operate industrial equipment such as vacuum trucks, water blasting equipment, forklifts, and skid steers safely and efficiently once trained and qualified.

  • Regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 5075 pounds in a variety of field conditions.

  • Work in dirty environments that may involve waste, mud, dust, odors, debris, chemicals, and other industrial materials while maintaining safety and professionalism.

  • Travel from the home office to various job sites and remain flexible to work extended hours, including 5060 hour weeks and up to 7 days per week when required.

  • Participate in a two-week paid training academy to obtain relevant certifications and technical skills.

  • Progress through technical levels by gaining equipment qualifications and certifications, contributing to increased responsibility and pay progression.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in a physically demanding outdoor, industrial, environmental, construction, or other labor-intensive role.

  • Ability and willingness to lift up to 5075 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Comfort working in dirty environments around waste, mud, dust, odors, debris, chemicals, and other industrial materials.

  • Experience in heavy industrial, landfill, demolition, septic or sewer maintenance, or remediation work environments.

  • Familiarity with hazardous waste, remediation, industrial cleaning, demolition, chemical waste, Hazmat, waste management, landfill operations, confined space work, and heavy construction environments.

  • Ability to work safely in confined spaces and at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.

  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, including 5060 hours per week, and to travel frequently, including potential work up to 7 days per week.

  • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and in industrial settings such as refineries, manufacturing plants, landfills, and construction sites.

  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel from the home office to various job locations.

  • Strong commitment to following OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety policies and procedures.

  • Ability to participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency situations during nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Willingness to wear full PPE, including chemical-resistant suits, gloves, hearing protection, goggles, face shields, respirators, and Hazmat suits.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Murfreesboro, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
