Assistant Engineer(Mechanical)-Early Career

Lockheed Martin’s RMS team at Mitchel Field, Long Island (NYC Metro Area) is seeking a full-time Early Career Mechanical Engineer to join a fast moving hardware group that supU.S. Navy’s Strategic Navigation Submarine Program.

In this role, you will rotate across a variety of tasks — Mechanical part design & troubleshooting (at the component and assembly level), Special Tooling/Test equipment design &troubleshooting, CAD development/drawing release, etc —giving you broad exposure to both tactical and auxiliary systems across the entire engineering product lifecycle. You wicollaborate across teams, as well as directly with our customer, in order to respond to emergent issues and concerns from our fleet and forward sites.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of core ME concepts (CAD/ASME standards, Component/Material selection, etc) and experience working with mdesign documentation (piece part drawings, assembly drawings, source control drawings, etc). This role is ideal for a recent graduate with 1-2 years of experience who enjoys learjob and adapting to evolving project needs.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) from an accredited institution

• 1-2 years of relevant professional experience (internships, co‑ops, or full‑time)

• Applied Experience with core ME concepts such as piece-part/assembly level design to ASME standards

• Experience working with mechanical design documentation using Creo Parametric and PTC Windchill (EPDM)

• Ability to work effectively on Agile teams, both on‑site and remotely

• Strong interpersonal & time‑management skills

Desired Skills

• Proficiency with alternative CAD tools such as 3dx, Catia, Zuken E3

• $88189.00 - $146163.00
