JobTitle : Senior IT Project Manager – Healthcare Insurance Position Overview
Lead multiple IT projects in a healthcare insurance environment, with responsibility for project planning, execution, risk and issue management, stakeholder engagement, project documentation, and executive-level status reporting. This role requires a hands-on project manager who can understand the business details behind the projects while effectively coordinating teams, management, vendors, and other internal and external organizations.
What You'll Do

Assist with developing business requirements.

Build project plans and execute according to those plans.

Manage project risks and issues, including risk triggers and risks associated with project plan tasks.

Ensure deliverables and activities are completed with high quality and in a timely manner.

Report project status and strategies both orally and in writing.

Develop and document key project management documents and artifacts.
-
Estimate effort for technical tasks and allocate resources.
-
Interact with staff, project team members, all levels of management, vendors, and internal and external organizations.

Compile and manage information required for project plans, portfolio/program plans, metrics, reports, and project management documentation.
-
Effectively engage people and organizations with diverse or competing interests.
-
Manage multiple high-profile, high-priority projects simultaneously.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
-
PMI Certification.
-
3+ years of experience in project management.
-
3+ years of project management experience in a healthcare insurance information technology environment.
-
Strong project management skills.
-
Strong project planning experience, including effort estimation on technical tasks and resource allocation.
-
Experience with risk management and issue management.
-
Superb written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present to executive management.
-
Strong proficiency in English.

Strong interpersonal and people skills.
-
Ability and willingness to continuously engage effectively with people and organizations.
-
Ability to manage multiple high-profile, high-priority projects at the same time.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with Medicaid or Healthcare Delivery Systems.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
-
Experience with SharePoint and typical project management tools, including Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project, Word, Access, and Excel.

Experience creating and documenting project management documents and artifacts.
-
Experience working with risk triggers and managing risks to project plan tasks.
