LOCATION: Amphi Corps – 218 E. Prince Road, Tucson, AZ

STATUS: Part Time/ 26 Hours Per Week

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain required certification

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Friendly, positive, and approachable demeanor

  • Ability to work effectively and appropriately with children and youth

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team

  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License

  • Ability to successfully pass required background clearance

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise program participants at all times and provide appropriate oversight based on program activities and participant ages.

  • Plan and lead engaging activities for After-School, Summer Day Camp, Troops, and other youth programs, including, but not limited to, games, crafts, chapel activities, and homework assistance.

  • Encourage participation and positive interaction among youth while helping maintain appropriate behavior and conduct.

  • Assist as needed with meal and snack preparation, warming, serving, and clean-up.

  • Complete daily clean-up of assigned program and work areas, including putting away activity materials and supplies, disinfecting surfaces, wiping tables, sweeping, and maintaining an orderly environment.

  • Assist with fundraising events, special events, seasonal activities, and other programs throughout the year.

  • Help maintain a safe and secure environment and property for all program participants.

  • Consistently enforce rules, policies, and behavioral expectations positively and appropriately.

  • Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, injuries, behavioral concerns, or other significant issues to the appropriate supervisor.

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings to discuss planning, activities, accomplishments, needs, and concerns

  • Work cooperatively with other program staff to support daily program operations and provide appropriate coverage as needed.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned and relates to the position of Program Aide

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate a telephone or a desktop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
