Maintenance Manager

Maintenance Manager (MY VERSION) Chemical Solvents Inc. | Cleveland, Ohio Chemical Solvents Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance activities and ensure equipment, systems, and facilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. This position is ideal for a mechanically skilled leader who is comfortable troubleshooting equipment on the plant floor while also managing preventive maintenance, personnel, contractors, parts, and improvement projects. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with Production, Operations, and Safety to minimize equipment downtime, address maintenance needs, and support a safe and reliable operation. Key Responsibilities - Lead daily maintenance activities, balancing preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, facility needs, and urgent production priorities. - Promote and enforce safe maintenance practices, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), appropriate PPE, and procedures for working around chemicals, flammable materials, and industrial equipment. - Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pumps, motors, mixers, tanks, piping, valves, transfer systems, and other plant equipment. - Develop, implement, and maintain a preventive maintenance program to improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend equipment life. - Track preventive maintenance completion, equipment history, downtime, and recurring failures to identify opportunities for improvement. - Troubleshoot recurring equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions. - Direct maintenance personnel, assign and prioritize work, and provide hands-on support when needed. - Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors, ensuring work is completed safely, properly, and in accordance with company requirements. - Work closely with Production, Operations, and Safety personnel to identify equipment concerns and complete repairs without compromising employee or process safety. - Coordinate equipment installations, facility repairs, upgrades, and capital improvement projects. - Maintain appropriate inventory levels of critical spare parts, maintenance supplies, and tools to minimize equipment downtime. - Obtain vendor quotes, monitor maintenance expenses, and make recommendations regarding equipment repair, replacement, or upgrades. - Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, equipment documentation, and preventive maintenance records. - Support compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety requirements as they relate to maintenance activities. - Respond to equipment breakdowns and prioritize repairs based on safety, operational needs, and production impact. - Promote good housekeeping, organization, accountability, and clear communication throughout the maintenance function. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous industrial maintenance experience, preferably within chemical processing, blending, distribution, manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment.
