About the Indiana Educational Resource Center (IERC):
The Indiana Educational Resource Center serves as Indiana's statewide repository for accessible educational materials. We partner with the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and the Indiana Department of Education to support Local Education Agencies, educators, and service providers by acquiring, managing, and distributing accessible instructional materials and resources for eligible students throughout Indiana. We work collaboratively with schools, accessible media producers, state agencies, and educational partners to ensure timely access to instructional materials in Braille, large print, digital, and other accessible formats.
Role Overview:
The Miami Accessible Media Project Manager oversees daily operations of the MAMP, a partnership with the Indiana Department of Correction that facilitates production and distribution of accessible educational materials. You will supervise production workflow, offender workforce training and supervision, quality control, inventory management, and timely completion of accessible educational materials. The Project Manager reports to the IERC Director and works closely with IERC staff and correctional facility personnel. Work is performed within Miami Correctional Facility and requires compliance with facility security procedures.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.
Salary:

A Day in the Life:
Operations & Production
-
Manage daily production activities and workflow.
-
Ensure production goals, timelines, and quality standards are met.
-
Oversee creation of large-print materials and coordinate braille, tactile graphics, and other accessible formats.

Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
Workforce Development
-
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate offender workers.
-
Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
-
Maintain a trained workforce to meet production demands.
Quality Control & Inventory
-
Monitor quality of completed materials.
-
Manage equipment, software, and supply inventories.
-
Coordinate equipment maintenance and software updates.
Reporting & Collaboration
-
Maintain production records and statistical reports.
-
Work collaboratively with IERC staff and correctional facility personnel.

Participate in planning and continuous improvement efforts.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours that may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
What You'll Need for Success:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Preferred:
-
Experience in workforce development, vocational training, print production, publishing, accessibility services, or educational support programs.

Experience training adult learners.
-
Experience managing production workflows and quality assurance processes.
-
Knowledge of Accessible Educational Materials (AEM).
Additional qualifications:
-
Experience in education, training, workforce development, rehabilitation, vocational programming, or a related field.

Experience supervising staff, trainees, students, or program participants.
-
Experience developing and delivering training programs.
-
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
-
Ability to learn accessible media production processes and technologies.
-
Ability to work effectively within a correctional facility environment.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Braille certification within 12 months of employment and a second Braille certification within 24 months of employment.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role provides supervision for incarcerated individuals and requires a high level of judgment and care.
