Overview

Join a growing and innovative technology team that is driving the development of impactful software solutions across the organization. Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Software Development Manager to join us in Holmdel, NJ. The Software Development Manager will lead a team of software developers in designing, developing, testing and implementing software solutions. The main responsibility is to manage the quality of applications are working efficiently and ensure all team targets are met. Provides technical guidance and helps to mentor team members. Works closely with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery.

  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits using industry standard practices.

  • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.

  • Collaborate with other application developers, business analysts and software architects both internally and externally to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web- and desktop-based business applications built on Microsoft technologies.

  • Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.

  • Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.

  • Package and support deployment of releases.

  • Work with team in the migration of legacy applications to current Microsoft technologies.

  • Develop, refine, and tune integrations between applications.

  • Analyze and resolve technical and application problems.

  • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering application solutions on-time.

  • Research and evaluate a variety of software products.

  • Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.

  • Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, estimates and work plans.

  • Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of applications.

  • Asses opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare related documentation.

  • Provide third-level support to internal business users.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

  • 8-10 years in the area of application development.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Manage and document updates within applications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Display professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.

  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $122,430 to $179,850 per year (depending on qualifications)
