Job Title: Adjunct Instructor - EMT / AEMT / Paramed (Part-Time)Agency: Atlanta Technical College Job Requisition ID: JR0000003750Shift: Any (United States of America)Compensation Details: $25.00 PER HOUR Job Description: Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor, EMT / AEMT / Paramedic (Part-Time), position in the Academic & Student Affairs division, Health & Public Safety Technologies department. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision of the Dean of the Health & Public Safety Technologies department and the EMT / Fire Program Chairperson, the Adjunct Instructor, EMT / AEMT / Paramedic (Part-Time), is responsible for delivering didactic, psychomotor, and clinical instruction for EMT and Paramedic courses. This position requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques. This is a part-time position, up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week. Schedule may include Day, Evening and Weekend hours.

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

• Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques
• Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements.
• Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills.
• Delivers instruction using approved curriculum.
• Assesses student performance and maintain records.
• Monitors safety and equipment use.
• Monitors students’ use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Advises and mentors students.
• Maintains classrooms, clinics, and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans.
• Participates in meetings and professional development.
• Supports accreditation standards
• Assists with student recruitment and job placement.
• Maintains compliance with TCSG policies.
• Assists with program recruitment efforts.
• Maintain all credentialing standards established by Atlanta Technical College, the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), and applicable accrediting and regulatory bodies (e.g., Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma, CoAEMSP/CAAHEP, as appropriate); and
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

• High School Diploma or higher credential in a health-related field from an accredited postsecondary institution, or completion of an equivalent military medical, hospital-based, or employer-sponsored training program.
• Current National Registry certifications as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) or Paramedic.
• Current Georgia licensure as an EMS Instructor (Advanced or Paramedic level preferred) and Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification in accordance with state and program requirements. (EMS Instructor at minimum, must be able to obtain Instructor / Coordinator EMT within 6 months of employment).
• Valid driver's license.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and subject matter expertise, supported by appropriate professional credentials, academic preparation, and related field experience in emergency medical services.
• Working knowledge of EMS program requirements, including the evaluation of student learning outcomes, clinical performance, and competency-based progression.

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES REQUIRED:

• AHA or Red Cross BLS Instructor Certification, ACLS, PALS and/ or PHTLS Instructor certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in EMS, healthcare, education, or a related field.
• Teaching experience at the postsecondary level, preferably within an accredited EMS or allied health program.
• Experience using Blackboard Ultra or other Learning Management Systems (LMS) to support instruction, assessment, and student engagement.
• Instructor/Coordinator Paramedic and or Instructor/Coordinator AEMT
