Description
Jenny Bour with Robert Half is working with a growing manufacturing company that is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support a wide range of people operations in Buffalo, New York. This HR Generalist position plays an important role in strengthening employee experience, supporting managers, and helping the organization maintain sound HR practices. The ideal HR Generalist candidate brings strong judgment, organization, and communication skills to daily HR activities while helping promote a compliant and positive workplace.
Responsibilities:

Manage full-cycle support for recruitment activities, including job postings, applicant review, interview scheduling, and onboarding coordination.

Maintain accurate employee records and complete HR data updates in line with company standards and legal retention requirements.

Respond to employee concerns, assist with workplace matters, and support fact-finding efforts for employee relations issues when needed.

Monitor HR practices for alignment with applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations and recommend process improvements where appropriate.

Work with leaders on performance review cycles, development planning, and initiatives that strengthen engagement and retention.

Help organize training programs and learning opportunities that support employee growth and business needs.

Prepare and track HR reports and workforce metrics to provide insights that support planning and decision-making.

Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and compliance expectations to encourage consistent application across the organization.

Support core HR programs such as benefits administration, onboarding, offboarding, and site-related safety processes, including workers' compensation coordination and incident follow-up.
Requirements
-
Experience in human resources with working knowledge of employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, and general HR operations.

Experience working in a manufacturing or warehousing environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, managers, and cross-functional partners.

Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail when handling records, documentation, and multiple priorities.
-
Ability to interpret and apply employment laws, regulations, company policies, and HR best practices.
-
Sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and a detail-oriented approach to handling sensitive or confidential information.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS platforms or related HR systems.

Ability to manage deadlines effectively while adapting to changing business needs and priorities.
