Behavioral Health Manager

Location: Santa Barbara, CA (Hybrid)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a licensed Behavioral Health Manager to support members in accessing quality behavioral health services. This role involves reviewing clinical cases, coordinating care, evaluating medical necessity, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review behavioral health referrals, treatment plans, and authorization requests.

  • Determine medical necessity and appropriate levels of care using clinical guidelines.

  • Coordinate services between members, providers, community organizations, and internal teams.

  • Prepare clinical documentation and member/provider communications.

  • Identify quality-of-care concerns and potential fraud, waste, or abuse.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medi-Cal, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted California license/certification as one of the following:

  • LCSW

  • LMFT

  • LPCC

  • RN

  • BCBA

  • Minimum 3 years of direct clinical experience for LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or RN candidates.

  • Minimum 2 years of direct BCBA experience for BCBA candidates.

  • Experience with developmental disabilities, ABA/BHT services, and Medi-Cal populations.

  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Managed care, utilization management, or case management experience.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Santa Barbara, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46.89 - $51.11/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
