What You'll Do

As the Structural Engineering Practice Leader, you will:

  • Establish, develop, and grow a high-performing structural engineering team

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight on complex structural engineering projects

  • Serve as a lead engineer, discipline lead, or engineering manager on multidiscipline projects

  • Collaborate with civil, electrical, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to deliver practical, safe, and cost-effective solutions

  • Support business development efforts, proposal preparation, and client relationship management

  • Expand the company's structural engineering presence throughout the Midwest region

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering staff

  • Ensure successful project execution, quality control, and adherence to industry standards

  • Deliver innovative solutions for industrial and infrastructure facilities

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis) or Structural Engineering

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Ability to obtain Ohio PE registration within six months if currently licensed in another state

  • 12+ years of progressive structural engineering experience (flexibility available for exceptional candidates)

  • Demonstrated experience supporting projects in:

  • Power Generation

  • Electric Transmission & Distribution

  • Industrial Facilities

  • Bulk Material Handling

  • Oil & Gas

  • Proven leadership experience managing structural engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong client-facing communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

Technical Expertise

Experience with:

  • Structural steel and reinforced concrete design

  • Deep foundations and industrial structures

  • Structural analysis and design software, including STAAD.Pro

  • AutoCAD

  • Revit

  • Navisworks

  • BIM coordination tools

Strong knowledge of:

  • AISC

  • ACI

  • ASCE

  • IBC

  • Industrial design and engineering standards

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in an office setting, with occasional travel to client facilities, industrial sites, and construction locations. Field visits may include active industrial plants, production facilities, and construction environments where safety protocols and PPE are required.

Candidates should be comfortable:

  • Visiting multiple project sites as needed

  • Working in industrial and construction environments

  • Interacting with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams

  • Traveling periodically, including occasional overnight trips

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Westerville, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $208000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
