Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, calibrate, upgrade, and validate network and infrastructure equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless solutions, servers, and related technologies.

  • Analyze installation requirements, interpret technical blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and third-party equipment documentation, and develop installation plans and procedures to support successful implementation.

  • Conduct site surveys, evaluate infrastructure readiness, and perform pre-installation and pre-trip inspections to determine the appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and personnel required for installation activities.

  • Assess site conditions, identify technical risks and constraints, and determine appropriate installation approaches based on project requirements, engineering standards, and environmental factors.

  • Troubleshoot network, wireless, connectivity, and infrastructure issues; identify root causes; implement corrective actions; and recommend technical adjustments to address installation challenges and optimize system performance.

  • Conduct wireless site surveys and evaluate radio frequency (RF) environments, network performance, and installation quality to ensure compliance with technical specifications, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.

  • Perform equipment testing, installation prototyping, and post-installation inspections, as needed, to validate installation methods, confirm functionality, and verify operational readiness before project turnover.

  • Partner with project managers, engineers, and customer stakeholders to review project scope, designs, statements of work, schedules, and implementation plans; communicate technical findings and project risks; and support successful project execution, including international installation oversight as required.

  • Prepare and maintain technical reports, work orders, installation documentation, inspection logs, validation results, and as-built records, documenting equipment configurations, installation variances, and corrective actions to support future deployments and equipment improvements.

  • Provide customers with technical guidance, implementation updates, and training on equipment operation and common troubleshooting techniques, while maintaining effective working relationships and representing Red River's technical and service delivery standards.

  • Ensure installation activities comply with customer site requirements, safety protocols, security policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable technical and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, military training, or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Networking, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.

  • 3+ years of experience installing, deploying, troubleshooting, or supporting network and infrastructure technologies, with working knowledge of routing, switching, wireless networking, IP addressing, and connectivity troubleshooting.

  • Ability to interpret network diagrams, floor plans, technical specifications, and implementation documentation; analyze technical problems; identify root causes; and recommend effective solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound technical judgment, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in dynamic project environments.

  • Strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently to customer locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with technology, infrastructure, installation tools, and deployment equipment.

  • Experience evaluating technical challenges, recommending implementation approaches, and making decisions that contribute to successful project outcomes.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project managers, engineers, customers, and cross-functional teams.

  • Technical certifications or coursework in networking, wireless, telecommunications, electronics, infrastructure, or information technology.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds and safely operate ladders, lifts, and other installation equipment.

  • Ability to work in data centers, offices, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and construction sites, including standing, walking, crouching, climbing, and working on-site for extended periods.
